THE SISTERS GRIMM by Michael Buckley

1.

REVIEW: Sabrina and Daphne have been orphans since their parents mysteriously disappeared.  Then a grandmother they had been told was dead claims them.  Grandma Grimm is not your ordinary grandma.  She claims that the Grimm family is related to the famous Brothers Grimm and that their family is detectives who must keep the Everafters from getting into more mischief.  Soon after the girls arrive at their grandma's house, a giant begins to terrorize Ferryport Landing.  Who stole a magic bean enabling the giant to get out?  Was it Mayor Charming who wants to control all of Ferryport Landing?  Is it Puck the mischievous elf?  Or is it someone out for attention and glory.  When Grandma Relda and Mr. Canis are captured by the giant it is up to the girls to solve the mystery.
OPINION: This was a fun book and mystery.  It was very interesting to see the characters show up and see how they turned out and acted in this different setting.  Sabrina and Daphne were strong characters and because there is a whole series of books, it will be fun to see them grow up and develop as characters.
