The Bracelet tells the story of a family uprooted from their home during WWII because of their Japanese heritage. This is another one of my shelf challenge books. Emi is given a bracelet by her friend Laurie just before she leaves and she promises to never take it off. She hopes that the bracelet will help her remember her friend and her home forever. Unfortunately, Emi loses the bracelet. She soon realizes that she doesn't need a bracelet to help her remember things; she carries her memories in her heart. A good introduction to the Japanese internment camps during World War II.
