MARGUERITE MAKES A BOOK by Bruce Robertson

REVIEW: Marguerite is the daughter of a famous book painter in Paris.  Unfortunately, Papa Jacques is getting older and had trouble seeing well and at times his hands would shake.  When Papa Jacques is late in finishing a book for Lady Isabelle Marguerite offers to help.  Her offer is declined until Papa Jacques breaks his glasses.  Marguerite then takes charge of the situation, buys all the materials, and finishes the book.  Marguerite is a girl who knows what she wants to accomplish, is confident of her skills, and is rewarded for her efforts.
OPINION: I found this book to be delightful.  It took the topic of book making during the Middle Ages and made it come alive through the eyes of a young girl.  Many details about the process were embedded in the story but it was done in a seamless way.
