This is yet another nominee for the Maine Student Book Award. Based on some of the content it is a little on the old side for our grades 4-6 school and I don't think it will get many votes as a result. I enjoyed the book though. I am sorely lacking in a knowledge of British history so this, for me, was a fascinating look into the year before Victoria became queen and some of the scandals and maneuvering behind the scenes. The author did a very good job of weaving fact and fiction. I would recommend the book to some of the 6th grade girls.
