The Penderwicks of Point Mouette by Jeanne Birdsall

This is the third book about the Penderwicks and is getting some Newbery buzz.  If you have read the other two Penderwick books and enjoyed them then you should pick this one up.  I liked it well enough but it seemed a bit slow to me.  There were almost 300 pages and, for me, it didn't get really good until page 220.  Once I got that far I was very absorbed but until that point, not so much.  I did like the fact that the story was set in Maine but there wasn't a lot of Maine culture in the book so it probably could have been set in any coastal state.
