The Fantastic Secret of Owen Jester by Barbara O'Conner

Those of you who know me know that I love frogs.  So of course, since this has a frog on the cover I had to read it.  The book is also one of the nominees for the Maine Student Book Award.  The book is about Owen Jester who has captured a large bullfrog that he names Tooley.  He wants to build Tooley a big cage and keep him as a pet.  Unfortunately, Tooley doesn't like being captured.  In addition, Owen hears something fall off the train one night and decides to find it.  Both parts of the story come together at the end.  You'll have to read it to find out how although the cover gives a really good hint.  I like the book well enough but it is not my favorite for the Mine Student Book Award.
