Since I opened the box of books in August I have found this book to be a strange choice for a Maine Student Book Award nominee. "A Young Writers Handbook"....really? But, since my daughter is an aspiring writer I decided to give it a try. The book was actually a lot of fun. It really boiled down to the fact that there are no rules, no rights and wrongs to writing. The authors did give some advice and valuable tips. They also gave a behind the scenes look at their own processes. I don't think this book will have as wide an audience as Origami Yoda or something but it may hit the spot for budding authors.
