This is one of the shortest books nominated for the Maine Student Book Award this year. It was very interesting about a girl whose mother picks tea leaves. When the mother is ill the little girl tries to do the work but is laughed at by the overseer. Then some monkeys come to her aid and find special tea leaves in the clouds. When the official tea tester of the Empress comes to taste the tea he makes a special arrangement with the girl to get the Cloud Tea once a year. I enjoyed the book but thought the ending was too abrupt and left some items unsaid.
